The use of technology in the hospitality industry is growing! The hospitality industry is designed around the idea of giving the very best service to their consumers. The hospitality industry as defined by Encarta is businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and transport industries that serve people away from home. As all businesses become more global, the hospitality industry will continue to grow to accommodate the needs that arise. Technology will be at the heart of the future success of the industry. The more, easier, and enticing services that a single business such as a hotel can provide will determine it’s success. Technology will have to be provided to allow for this collaboration of services which is necessary based on the concepts that the hospitality industry is based on.

Working with technology is a difficult path to go and is not for the complacent. In the tech industry you are either growing and evolving or dying. There is not much room for the middle ground. Does technology drive change or does change drive technology? By change, i mean the way something or someone goes about doing something in any aspect of industry. This is not an easy question nor is the answer. Does necessity drive the evolution/creation of new technology or is new technology just thought up? If necessity drives the evolution of technology, what is the biggest necessity in today’s society. I believe that technology and change is a two-way street, change drives technology but technology also drives change. If there is a necessity for something to change, then you can bet that the technology will be created to accommodate that necessity. On the other hand if technology is created, it may or may not become adoptive unless there is a necessity for that technology. Technology has influenced every industry from clothing to sports to social life. The hardest question is which industry has the necessity for change or new technology. Since i believe that the want to change drives technology more than the reverse, which industry is the most succumb to the want of change? This would become a much easier question if I was allowed to say that every industry has succumb to the want to change, which is probably true for the most part, and therefore the question is null. But I think that is taking the life out of a complex question for someone in the business of technology in industry. Lets chew on that for a while!!
